Our project is aimed to impact the Youth – pupils from secondary and high schools, students, people living with HIV/AIDS, patients treated with substitution therapy, NGO’s and their representatives working for HIV/AIDS prophylactics and drugs-prevention schemes in Warsaw.
Our project includes an internet platform, which is divided into two subcategories. The first is the internet advice bureau, which provides information about the risk of acquiring HIV, living with HIV, substitution therapy and information about how to get help and internet advice. It is all being done using advanced internet support services, through: email, IM messengers Skype and Gadu-Gadu and polish chat-room site www.czateria.pl. The second part of our platform is the – social network service, which is dedicated to people living with HIV and people who are being treated with substitution therapy. It allows for communication, sharing experiences and support to those who want/need it, through web-forums and Blogs. A big part of our social network portal is the ability to read-through genuine accounts given by people living with HIV and treated with substitution therapy.
Our Project is promoted and marketed using advertisements and leaflets that give info about HIV/AIDS and ways people can get help. Those leaflets and adverts are left at schools and organizations, which deal with similar education matters. Further information are also going to be available on other social network sites, such as www.grono.net, www.facebook.com, www.myspace.com and also on websites of NGO’s who took part in creating and running the project.
The Project is funded by Warsaw’s government bureau and is being implemented by a partnership of Lambda Warsaw, Społeczny Komitet ds. AIDS, Stowarzyszenie Pomoc Socjalne, Fundacja Edukacji Społecznej, Jump 93 Association for patients on substitution therapy, Stowarzyszenia Wolontariuszy Wobec AIDS „Bądź z Nami” and Stowarzyszenie „Mały Książę”.
